Sean Goggins

Sean Goggins is a software engineer turned professor with experience designing, studying, and building sociotechnical systems for measuring learning, compliance, software health, online community, cardiac health, and civic engagement, among others. Sean co-founded the CHAOSS project, led the creation of his university’s master’s program in data science and analytics, and is an Augur maintainer. Augur is one of the leading open source software health and sustainability metrics tools, and the only one with a scientific impact data pipeline. As a sociotechnical researcher and author of nearly 200 academic papers, Sean is driven to ensure that metrics serve our projects and avoid the dangers of casual misuse.
